Big Stretch (Real name: Randy Walker) was in the group Live Squad together with his brother Majesty (Real name: Christopher Walker). Live Squad released the Heartless/Murderahh single on Tommy Boy Records in '92.
They recorded an album for their mini-movie "Game Of Survival". I am not sure if either the CD or the movie was released back then but an updated version is available for purchase on SandBoxAutomatic.com.
They did several tracks for mixtapes, including the songs "Big Time" featuring 2Pac and E-Money Bags and "Cheese".
Pac met Stretch through Shock G in the summer of '91 and they became best friends not long after.
Shock G: "Stretch and I had a rare, close connection but even moreso, him and Pac hit it off. It was like no male relationship I'd ever seen, straight up love at damn near first sight. They loved each other like two inseparable foster brothers in a juvenile halfway house. I don't think they spent more than a few minutes apart from the point they met, up until Pac got shot the first time in New York years later."
Shock G: "His walk, his fits, his haircut, his guns and his speech was always some new shit, and he began to influence Pac, which in hindsight turned out to be an important phase in 2Pac's grooming"
Stretch was featured on the tracks "Crooked Ass Nigga" and "Tha' Lunatic" from 2Pacalypse Now, "Strugglin'" and "5 Deadly Venomz" from Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z..., "Stay True" and "Under Pressure" from Thug Life Volume 1, "God Bless The Dead" from the Greatest Hits album.
[In the song "God Bless The Dead" they say "Rest in peace Biggie Smalls". Despite what Shock G said in Thug Angel, God Bless The Dead is most likely about Biggie Smalls, a white friend of Pac and Stretch who died around '93. The track is supposed to have been recorded around that time.]
Stretch was supposed to be part of Thug Life but for unknown reasons (at least unknown to me) he wasn't. He was however featured on the album.
UPDATED 12-12-04
Pac and Stretch's friendship deteriorated after the '94 shooting. Stretch was killed in Jamaica Queens, New York on November 30th, 1995, exactly one year after Pac's shooting. To read a news article regarding Stretch's murder (which Dante posted) click here.
On the song "Against All Odds" Pac said:
"And that nigga that was down for me, restin dead
Switch sides, guess his new friends wanted him dead"
which is figured to be about Stretch. Stretch's "new friends" was the camp of The Notorious B.I.G., who Stretch was down with in '94 (I think before that as well but I'm not sure) - '95. Pac was reported to have visited Stretch's grave, while B.I.G.'s camp didn't.
Stretch and Majesty were also producers. Production credits are listed below.
In 2003 Grand Imperial released a mixtape "The Best Of Stretch", featuring tracks like "God Bless The Dead", "Cheese", "Heartless" and some new Majesty songs.
