Disloyal lil nigga
- Exploring the end of the friendship among other topics for Complex TV's the Combat Jack Show, Waka revealed his "no beef" stance on the issue hasn't changed. Regardless of the fallout with Gucci, and a rift between his mother, Debra Antney, and her former client Nicki Minaj, the 26-year-old said he has learned to keep it professional. "Nicki still cool to this day, [I] always talk to her. Gucci ain't. It still didn't f--- nothin' up I felt like I can't look at that as no son s---. It's business. It's a big difference."
But he's still somewhat puzzled as to why Gucci is upset. "I don't know what secret feelings that man got," he said. "From my personal opinion it gotta be jealousy or envy or something. I don't know but I ain't looking for no answers though, once you say it, it's done."
When asked about Gucci's role in spearheading his success, Waka held his tongue when host Reggie Ossé (aka Combat Jack) called the "Lemonade" rapper a "mentor."
"Nobody helped me do s---," he maintained. "Not my mama, not Gucci. My first album Gucci ain't even on it, period. My second album he ain't even on it. This s--- Waka."
Only time will tell if the former Brick Squad comrades will work things out, but for now Waka is content with being out on his own, reaffirming his previous vow to never work with Gucci again.
He's also still not buying the claim that Gucci's Twitter announcement about cutting ties with him was the work of a hacker. "I guess God hacked it."
