Group (Dilated Peoples) fully in tact - but honest about their legacy and relations, emcee/manager Rakaa Iriscience is finally preparing his solo debut, Crown of Thorns. Released through Decon - the same label Evidence released product with for years, the album is entirely based on the inner-workings of things, or as Rakaa calls it, "politics." In a recent discussion with HipHopDX, the former advertising major in college speaks about making this dense work, the Los Angeles underground awakening, and sharing the literal and metaphoric microphone with Fashawn, Blu and members of the new generation.
