REBEL MUSIC GROUP/UNIVERSAL LATINO’s DJ MUGGS VS SICK JACKEN IN STORES TODAY

Now that the ink is dry on label deal between Universal Latino and Rebel Music Group, it is time to show and prove with the first release. DJ Muggs VS Sick Jacken ‘The Legend of the Mask and The Assassin,‘ is the brainchild of two of hip- hop’s heavy hitters-DJ Muggs (best known for production of Cypress Hill and his Sirius radio show) and enigmatic Psycho Realm frontman, Sick Jacken. The album officially hit Stores Today.
Live instrumentation by Fredwreck, DJ Khalil and others adds depth to the music and sets this project apart from all other “hip-hop” releases. Overall, the collaboration from these two hip-hop heavies can best be described as a concept album owing to the weaving of various musical styles infused into hip- hop with lyrics in both English and Spanish. Early buzz on the project can already be felt from the West as a result of a couple tracks making their way to various influential hip-hop websites, including
DJ MUGGS, iconic producer, Angeles Records CEO, Mash up radio personality, pioneer and founder of Hip- Hop super group Cypress Hill, has decided to collaborate with SICK JACKEN of The Psycho Realm, the Los Angeles rap group started in 1989 by brothers Jacken (Jack Gonzalez) and Duke (Gustavo Gonzalez), who have enjoyed a religious fan base that follows Jacken and the group everywhere.
In 1993 B-Real saw Psycho Realm performing at Olvera Street for an End Barrio Warfare concert. Their performance inspired B-Real to the point that he wanted to join the group. With this time period being the height of Cypress Hill’s career, anything Cypress Hill related would get major publicity, and now Jacken has taken it a step further and teamed up with DJ Muggs to continue the legacy of influential creative classics with the new album “LEGEND OF THE MASK AND THE ASSASSIN” out on Rebel Music group/ Universal Latin, Jacken’s joint venture with Universal Music Latino
DJ Muggs VS Sick Jacken ‘The Legend of the Mask and The Assassin’ marks the first time members of Cypress Hill and Psycho Realm have collaborated since the release of the Psycho Realm debut album in 1997. The collaboration of such strong creative forces is undoubtedly making this project one of the most highly anticipated releases in the hip-hop scene. Special features of the album include two Spanish-language tracks and exclusive tracks available only via iTunes featuring the top artists in hip-hop, rock and Latin music.
Dj Muggs and Sick Jacken will perform at Amoeba Records Store, Thursday, September 13th, 2007 in HollyWood, California 6400 Sunset Blvd.
